This is a soft green to yellow-green variety of serpentinite, sometimes called new jade. The stone is translucent to opaque with a glassy to satin luster. New jade is not actual jade, despite its name. The stone brings physical and mental balance and helps ward off negative energy and radiation. It has a calming effect on tension and nervousness and brings inner peace.

It is an excellent stone for bringing balance in conflicts and can help in finding compromises. Spiritually, serpentine can aid in enhancing spiritual abilities and is a great stone for supporting meditations. Physically, the gemstone is detoxifying and cleansing, and it has a positive effect on the stomach, intestines, and kidneys.
