Energetic properties
Apricot agate is a protective, grounding, and stabilizing stone that promotes inner peace and a calm attitude. It stimulates spiritual and mental growth and encourages self-reflection. It also enhances rational and logical thinking, focus, and analytical ability. It protects the aura, creates a sense of safety, and balances body, mind, and spirit. Physically, apricot agate supports pregnancy and is believed to positively influence the stomach, bladder, eyes, and blood vessels.
Suitable for children from approximately 2 years old.
Formation
Formed through volcanic processes, this stone develops in cavities of volcanic rock such as basalt. These cavities are created by gas bubbles that remain after the rock cools. Over millions of years, silica-rich water seeps into the rock and fills the cavities.
The silica deposits gradually and forms crystals with layers typical of agate. These layers build up over time, and color variations arise from the presence of different minerals like iron or manganese. In the case of apricot agate, these minerals produce warm orange to peach hues.
Name
Named for its color, which resembles the soft, warm tones of apricots. The stone typically has a peach to light orange hue similar to apricot skin or flesh.
Care
Apricot agate is relatively hard and durable and doesn’t require special care. It can be cleaned under running water and gently patted dry with a soft cloth. It may also be cleansed and recharged using sage, incense, moonlight, or an orgonite charging disk.
Origin
Main sources include Brazil, Uruguay, India, and the United States.
Availability
Relatively common and found worldwide, though not considered rare. However, variations in quality and size exist, and certain rare forms with internal inclusions or exceptional size may be valuable.
